Fishtail Braid

Hello!
I recently learned how to do a fishtail braid, so I thought I would share how to do it. Once you get the hang of it, it is quick and easy style to do.

Start by teasing your hair at the crown of your head to give your hair some volume, and then pull it into a low ponytail off to the side. I have lots of layers in my hair, so putting into a ponytail helps keep the style in place and keeps pieces from falling out of the braid. You can skip this step if you don't have layers. Then, take your hair and split it into 2 equal sections (left and right.)

Take about a 1 inch piece of hair from the back of the right section. Bring the piece over the same section, and then add the piece to the the left section of hair. We are going to do the same thing again, only this time from the other side.

While holding both sections of hair in your right hand (still keeping them separate), take a 1 inch piece of hair from the left section. Bring the piece over the left section and add the piece of hair to the right section.
Continue this pattern all the way down, taking one piece of hair from the right side, and then one from the left etc. Every couple of times pull the braid tight to make sure pieces don't fall out.
Afterwards, secure it with a hair tie and bobby pin any loose hairs that you may have and spray lightly with hairspray.

I hope you guys like this look. With a little bit of practice it is a fun, easy style to do that doesn't take much time. If you need me to clarify any steps that are hard to understand please let  me know.

Thanks for visiting!
Kelly
