Urban Decay Naked 3- Look 3

Hello! I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day! The past week I have been trying to create different looks with the Naked 3 palette. I always seem to go for the same look with the same colors. I forced myself to try a new look.

Step 1: Apply an eyeshadow primer. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
Step 2: Apply Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze on the outer half of your lid. It doesn't have to be perfect because we will be apply eyeshadow on top of it and will blend it. I like using this cream shadow to intensify the colors.
Step 3: Blend Limit into the crease. It is a soft pink color that we will use to blend out the cream shadow.
Step 4: Apply Liar to the entire eyelid. Because we only applying Bad to the Bronze on the outer half, it will create a nice gradient effect.
Step 5: Use Nooner in the crease to blend even more. I didn't take it as high as Limit, so that the pink was still visible.
Step 6: Use Nooner to line the lower lash line, then take Liar underneath to create a smokey effect.
Step 7: Apply Strange on the brow bone and in the inner corner of the eye to create a nice highlight.
Step 8: Apply Mascara and line the top lash line with a gel or liquid eyeliner.

I hope that you all enjoy this look.

Interview Makeup Tips

Hello Ladies! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. A couple of weeks ago I had a job interview and thought I would share some of my makeup tips for an interview. I ended up getting the job and started it last week, so needless to say I have been extremely busy with working full time and going to school full time. That is why I haven't been blogging to much.
After you have prepared yourself for how you are going to answer common questions and you have researched the company a bit, the next part is preparing your look.

 1. Allow extra time to get ready. You only get one first impression. Not only what you say is important, but how you look is important too.
2. Keep it on the natural side. You don't want look like you are hiding behind a mask or insecure with yourself. I used a medium coverage foundation with a Beautyblender and used a concealer to cover any blemishes and under my eyes. I then used a nice peach cream blush that blended nicely into skin. Any rose or peach colored blush would work well.
3. Limit the amount of eye makeup you wear. I would stay away from smokey eyes and limit the amount of glittery/shimmery eyeshadows. You don't want your makeup to be a distraction. I used Urban Decay's Naked Basic palette to add a little bit of contour to my crease. I applied a thin line of gel eyeliner to the top lash line and I blended a light brown eyeshadow on my lower lash line. I used an eyeshadow to highlight the inner corner of my eye as well as a nude eyeliner on my bottom water line to look more awake.

4. Be yourself. If you normally wear a lipstick that is a bit on the brighter or darker side, go for it. I would stay away from anything too outrageous because it shouldn't be a distraction. Make sure to exfoliate those lips the night before to prevent dry or flaky lips.
5.For nail polish I used a light pink color. I would avoid dark color polishes only because it is more noticeable if there is a chip. I painted them the night before and used a good top coat to avoid any chipping.
6. For my hair I curled it by wrapping it around a 1' curling iron. I have been wearing my hair mostly natural, but curling my hair looks more polished and interview appropriate.

What are your best interview tips?

Mini Sephora and Ulta Haul

Happy Monday! I'm sorry for my lack of posts lately. Classes started up again last week so things have been a little busy. I wanted to get a quick post up so I thought I would share the few things that I purchased from Sephora and Ulta
The only thing that I purchased from Sephora is the Sol de Rio Bronzing Powder by Sephora. I've heard great things about it and it was about time I replaced my Hoola bronzer. This is a light colored matte bronzer. Since I am pretty fair I thought this would look nice without looking too unnatural. I will post a full review of this product after I have had a chance to try it out. (If you look really close in the mirror you will see a puppy nose :) )

I went to Ulta to pick up Paul Mitchell's Flexible Style Sculpting Foam. I have been trying to grow my hair out so my hope is to use this product to use this product to style my naturally curly/wavy hair. I have tried so many different products that haven't worked well, so I just bought a little bottle to give it a try.
Of course I had to look around while I was there. I purchased 2 OPI nail polishes: Hey Baby, a bright pink and Love Angel Music Baby, a soft gold. I'm excited to give those a try. They were on clearance so they were only 5 dollars each.
The last thing I purchased was 2 Ecotool Brushes. One is a full eye shadow and the other is an airbrush concealer. It was time to replace a couple of my E.L.F. brushes.

I am excited for a couple of changes coming to my blog. I'm planning on changing a little bit at a time and I am pretty sure I have a new name picked out with a new domain too. I will keep you all posted.
